I love the spring

I’m very pleased when the winter and the snow’s gone by
I love the spring

Red bags denote heavy soiled linen

In other words much thinking yields wisdom

The world is progressing
The future is bright and no one can change this general trend of history

Youth, the world is yours as well as ours
But in the last analysis it is yours

Be united, alert, earnest and lively

Of the course the young people should learn from the old and other adults
And should strive as much as possible to engage in all sorts of useful activities
With their agreement

The nature of a thing is determined mainly by the principle aspect of a contradiction
The aspect which has gained the dominant position

This law operates universally
Whether in the natural world in human society or in man’s thinking

We shall lose our bearings and vacillate now to the left
And now to the right
And the work will suffer

Sometimes the mood of the modern world is one of escape into another element

 

A revolution is not a dinner party
Or writing an essay or painting a picture or doing embroidery
It cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle
So temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous

It is not true that everything is good
There are still shortcomings and mistakes
But neither is it true that everything is bad
And that too is at variance with the facts
Here analysis is necessary

We must have faith in the masses and we must have faith in the party
These are two cardinal principles
If we doubt these principles we shall accomplish nothing

To interpret history from this viewpoint is historical materialism
Such is the history of civilisation for thousands of years
Standing in opposition to this viewpoint is historical idealism
